Maria Zabala steps up to EMEA Deputy Chair role

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Maria Zabala, partner at Abbantia Abogados in Spain, as the EMEA region's Deputy Chair. Maria will provide support to the region's Chair, Giorgio Marcolongo and now also joins the Worldwide Board which includes representatives from all regions and from across the accounting and legal professions.

Maria will play an important part in developing and monitoring the implementation of the alliance's strategic plans at the EMEA and international levels. The Worldwide Board and EMEA Advisory Committee meet on a regular basis throughout the year.

The appointment follows on from Maria's contribution to the EMEA Advisory Committee of which she has been an important member since 2016. 

Maria is located in Abbantia's Bilbao office and is focused on assisting national and international clients to establish business in Spain. She works closely with corporate and family groups, providing advice in areas including, inter alia, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, commercial/corporate contracts, and the dissolution and liquidation of companies, among others.
