London and South East law member Sherrards Solicitors has promoted three staff members to the partnership - Stephanie Kierans, Barney Laurence and Mark Fellows.

Previously Senior Associates, the trio have made a significant impact in their respective practice areas and have helped the firm to develop.

Stephanie Kierans becomes a Partner in the Commercial Property team, while Mark Fellows, Head of Employment, takes on a partnership role, and Barney Laurence becomes a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team.

Alasdair McMillin, Managing Partner, comments: “It is with great pleasure that we promote these three outstanding individuals within the firm. Stephanie, Mark and Barney all offer unique qualities to the Partnership and have particular strengths that make them ideal future leaders. On behalf of myself and the rest of the firm, I would like to congratulate them on their achievements and I wish them all the best in their new roles.

McMillin adds: “We are lucky to have extremely strong teams and excellent lawyers across the business. We aim to support all of our people in achieving their goals with us, both personally and professionally. The Partners are working hard to ensure that opportunities are opened to people throughout the firm, at every level.”

Barney Laurence joined Sherrards Solicitors in 2005 from a London firm and handles all types of commercial litigation matters, specialising in actions involving High Court injunctions and franchise related disputes. Barney has achieved notable success, including cases before the High Court and a defining ruling in the House of Lords.

Stephanie Kierans began at Sherrards in 2004 as a paralegal and trained with the firm through to qualification. She specialises in commercial property, including the acquisition and disposal of retail and residential investment property and undertakes high volume transactional work in various sectors.

Mark Fellows joined Sherrards in July 2008 from an in-house role at BT plc. He specialises in advising employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

Over the last 18 months, the firm has grown considerably, having recruited 22 new members of staff across both offices (London and St Albans) and appointed seven new Partners. The firm also moved to larger new offices in St Albans on 30 May.
