Kemps Weir announces key promotions

Kemps Weir Lawyers, based in Auckland, New Zealand, are celebrating the promotions of two of their exceptional staff, Jacqueline Hardey to Senior Associate and Tessa Dickie to Associate.

Jacqueline, with 37 years of experience, specializes in trusts, estate planning, and elder law. She has recently completed the STEP Diploma in Estates and Trusts, furthering her expertise. As a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives, she has also been acknowledged as a full member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and holds the TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation. STEP represents trust and estate practitioners worldwide. Jacqueline enjoys advising clients who have complex asset structures and provides guidance on succession matters including inter-generational wealth transfer.

The recent trust law changes in New Zealand replaced the previous 1956 legislation and Jacqueline assists clients in reviewing their existing trusts and asset structures, advising on changes, and updating documentation as required.

Tessa joined Kemps Weir in 2020 and practices property and commercial law at the firm where she advises a range of clients from first home buyers to commercial property investors, acting in residential conveyancing, assisting with subdivisions, and preparing and advising on commercial leasing documents. Tessa has specific experience of advising clients on the purchase of properties ‘off plan’ and of preparing sale and purchase agreements for house and land packages.

Tessa has attracted numerous new clients to Kemps Weir Lawyers following interviews and features in several articles by the national newspaper, Stuff and she is enjoying the opportunity to expand her expertise in property development and to work on additional subdivisions.
