Emerging Talent Q&A: Sophia Tian

As part of our focus on the younger professionals working at Alliott Group member firms, we recently caught up with Sophie Tian, a manager at Beijing accounting member Lee & Lee Associates and asked her to tell us more about why chose a career in accounting and what motivates her. 

1. What is your title:

I am a manager at the firm. 

2. Why did you choose this as your career?

Accounting has its unique charm; one can always learn new things in this industry. In this profession, I can learn all business activities and business models, I can help companies to develop and grow. This gives me great joy and self-fulfilment.

3. What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is the recognition and respect I receive from carrying out my work.

4. What is your firm’s difference in your opinion?

We are very focused on acquiring new knowledge in our industry which will benefit clients. The firm provides us with adequate support and team members are always happy to share information and best practice with each other.

5. What do you consider your greatest achievement to date?

This would be seeing our clients enter the Chinese market successfully and our ability to grow with them.

6. What motivates you?

The appreciation I receive from my superiors and clients.

7. Name one item you cannot do without?

The help and trust I receive from the whole team and company.

8. What is one thing you would like to see Alliott Group implement?

I would like to see country by country comparisons and case studies on the different tax laws and regulations in each jurisdiction.
