Collaboration takes center stage at AGA Latin America & Caribbean meeting

The event welcomed participants from across the region and from other jurisdictions, including the United States, Spain, Turkey, and Poland.

Expertly hosted by local member firms Peña Mancero Abogados and Visión Contable & Financiera, the conference's goal was to strengthen connections between participants by engaging in discussions on client and jurisdictional opportunities, as well as exchanging insights on firm management strategies and more effective utilization of alliance resources.

Hot topics covered during member-facilitated discussions included finding a common approach to referrals, professional retention strategies, and how to pitch more successfully for new business individually and collectively as alliance firms. Significant time was also dedicated to learning about AGA’s digital transformation, specifically utilization of the alliance’s cloud based, collaborative software platform, AGAOne, with Marta Solarska-Kaleńczuk, Partner and COO at Woloszanski & Partners Law Firm in Poland, leading an interactive session.

Giles Brake, AGA’s CEO, highlighted the alliance’s impressive organic growth in the region, with coverage now extending to some 70 percent of Latin American countries, and confirmed the alliance’s ambitions to expand to Paraguay, Ecuador and select Caribbean countries, as well as secure additional representation in Peru, Venezuela, and Uruguay. First-time attendee Annette Herrera, Partner at Torres Legal (El Salvador) who joined the alliance in February 2204, formally introduced her firm to the attendees and outlined the exciting opportunities for foreign investors in her country.

Guest speaker Daniel Lozano, Founder and CEO of KindWorks.AI, joined the event to give an engaging presentation on the practice of intentional kindness, explaining how professional firms are using their AI solution to spread kindness and appreciation to staff at scale.

A program of social and evening events also offered members the opportunity to network and learn more about each other, while enjoying the very best of Cartagena’s culture and cuisine.
