hub has gone live

In this regular section which appears in our APAC region's newsletter, a selection of our members in the region share a snapshot of the international referrals they have received from across the APAC region and internationally.

Vanessa Williams from Alliott NZ Ltd, Auckland was referred a client from Alex Vrahos at Baumgartner’s in Melbourne, Australia. The client wanted to establish a business in NZ to sell facemasks. Alliott NZ set up a NZ company along with the appropriate integrated cloud accounting systems to sell the product online. Alliott NZ also provides monthly bookkeeping services to the client.

Alliott NZ Ltd also worked with Mark Shepherd from Allan Hall Business Advisors in Australia on a mutual client to establish a new IT company in NZ. This new company had specific share capital requirements and also cross border tax transactions with Australia to consider.

Greg Miller and Vanessa Williams of Alliott NZ Ltd also worked with Jon Broadley from Broadley Rees Hogan based in Brisbane, Australia, on the following referral:

In 2019 Broadley Rees Hogan received a referral through (a former) AGA member to assist in the acquisition of an Australian technology company by a US private equity group. That transaction was completed but unfortunately the 2020 pandemic put pressure on the business and eventually it was divested to another US private equity group. Broadley Rees Hogan was involved in both the original acquisition and the recent sale and was able to refer to Alliott NZ the set up and accounting needs of a New Zealand subsidiary on the original acquisition. Broadley Rees Hogan has also been able to involve Alliott NZ again on issues associated with the divestment. It is also hoped that the new private equity group buyer will continue to engage Alliott NZ for ongoing accounting and advisory work.
