Strong membership gains for Alliott Group in first four months of 2020
21 April 2020
Despite increasingly difficult trading conditions, global multidisciplinary alliance Alliott Group achieved significant growth in the first four months of 2020, adding 11 new member firms and expanding its reach to 69 countries.
Alliott Group, the world’s sixth largest multidisciplinary alliance of independent professional firms, continued to grow in the first four months of 2020 despite economic uncertainty around the world caused by the COVID-19 crisis. 11 law and accounting firms joined the alliance in the Latin America, APAC and EMEA regions.
Giles Brake, COO of Alliott Group comments:
“In early 2019, we put in place a strategy and team to expand the alliance’s geographic coverage but also boost the opportunities available to alliance members worldwide. Over the last 16 months, we have appointed 33 new member firms and expanded to 13 new countries. In this year alone, agreements have been signed with independent firms in five new countries, Bangladesh, Costa Rica, Sweden, Yemen and Zimbabwe and we have added further depth to our membership in Argentina, Israel, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Turkey.
We are determined to keep growing through the current crisis and to continue seeking out partnerships that spark new opportunities for our members. Our message to independent firms is that joining an international alliance will enable them to bounce back faster from the crisis by expanding their resource base and profile exponentially. Firms are looking for something different from an alliance partner and really like our approach to making business happen between accountants, lawyers and other professional advisers and our effectiveness in facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practice.”
Brake adds that the alliance has a growth plan to expand to 100 countries as well as achieve greater penetration in many of the world’s largest economies, including the United States and China.
Maintaining the alliance’s distinctive culture is however equally important during this growth phase with Alliott Group Worldwide Chair, Colin Farmer, a partner at accounting firm Alliotts in London, adding:
“The alliance has a heart and soul and a family feel that has been cultivated over the last 41 years. While we need to become truly global, we cannot lose our closeness or let standards fall. The Executive Office team and Board are taking the alliance in a direction which ensures we remain a very attractive proposition for progressive independent professional firms.”
The new firms that have joined Alliott Group in 2020 are: Vazquez Tercero & Zepeda (Mexico, lawyers), AAA Chambers (Nigeria, lawyers), Nunes & Nunes Abogados (Argentina, lawyers), Titov & Partners (Sweden, lawyers), Israeli & Israel (Israel, accountants), Muvingi & Mugadza (Zimbabwe, lawyers), Accounting Group (Yemen), DVBS (Costa Rica, lawyers and accountants) and Molenaar & Griffiths/STS Inc. (lawyers, South Africa).
Alliott Group expects to announce its expansion to 70 countries in the second quarter of 2020.
