Alliott Global Alliance (‘AGA’) is delighted to announce that its law firm representative in Brazil, Madrona Advogados (Madrona), has merged with highly ranked Fialho Salles Advogados (Fialho Salles). The firm will now be known as Madrona Fialho Advogados (Madrona Fialho) effective immediately.
AGA can now provide clients doing business within and outside of the country’s borders, with support from over 200 lawyers, in addition to 40 partners who offer the full range of compliance and advisory services.
Established in 2015, Madrona joined AGA in February 2022 and has earned rankings and recognition from Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and ILFR, ranking in 6th place in Brazil for M&A deals in 2021. Fialho Salles was created in 2006 and since then the firm has received recognition in at least 84 legal ranking categories. In 2022, it was recognized as the best law firm in Minas Gerais by Brazil's Legal Summit, as organized by the Leaders League.
Highly recognised for their high performance in M&A (corporate), capital markets, litigation and arbitration, labor, tax, real estate, antitrust, IP, compliance and infrastructure, Madrona and Fialho are also known for their work across non-traditional sectors including digital international trade, environmental, new financing alternatives and the universalization of sanitation, generation, commercialization, and distribution of energy, plus the disposal and treatment of solid waste.
Partners at both firms saw a great fit in terms of work ethic and areas of expertise and this union puts them firmly in the top 25 of law firms in the country. Clients now have access to a “one-stop shop” a firm capable of delivering solutions to customers in many corporate advisory and litigation areas.
Ricardo Madrona, founder of Madrona and CEO of Madrona Fialho comments:
“In an increasingly complex business and legal environment, the merger with Fialho was vital to helping clients overcome their day to day and economic challenges. This union will also benefit our global alliance AGA by offering our members more capability, breadth of services and locations from which to service their clients.
“In the last 25 years there has been no mergers of this size in the sector and the new firm is a consequence of the synergy of values, processes, people, and strategic goals over a long period of time. Our motto is to “make it flow,”
Leonardo Canabrava, Partner at Madrona Fialho and co-founder of Fialho Salles added:
“Our clients need comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and reliable solutions. Traditional models are no longer justified. It is necessary to join forces and innovate and we aim to be protagonists in the transformation of our combined work model.”
Giles Brake, CEO of AGA said:
“This merger is exciting news for AGA. Madrona Fialho are an important cornerstone of our global alliance in the Latin America and Caribbean region. Their ability to provide clients with a wider range of expertise in more locations across Brazil creates strategic advantage for clients, AGA, and our member firms in 95 countries. We are very proud to be associated with the Madrona Fialho brand and we look forward to hosting our Latin America & Caribbean Regional Conference in São Paulo in late June.”
Across Latin America and the Caribbean, AGA now has member firms in Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
