LAWYER AND ARBITRATOR
Radu Sora is the Managing Lawyer of Sora & Associates - Lawyers. He has a wealth of experience in corporate law, FIDIC contracts, procurement law, banking, competition law, energy, employment, real estate law, media and advertising, transportation law, public acquisitions, debt recovery, insolvency procedure, as well as litigation and arbitration.
Currently, Mr. Radu Sora and his team are involved in International Arbitration cases where he represents clients in complex proceedings in areas such as: construction disputes (FIDIC contracts) or other commercial related disputes in areas such as transportation, privatization, energy, etc.
Apart from heading the Law Firm, Mr. Sora has also acted as a Romanian arbitrator from The Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
Mr. Radu Sora is also listed as an arbitration practitioner at Vienna International Arbitration Center (www.viac.eu). He also had the honor to translate in Romanian the last official version of Vienna Rules of Arbitration and Mediation.
Radu Sora is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association and, in the same time, is also member of the world's leading organisation of international legal practitioners: International Bar Association (IBA).
He graduated the Faculty of Law from Nicolae Titulescu University from Bucharest.
He holds a degree issued by Kennesaw State University from Georgia, United States, which certifies the graduation of the courses concerning the United States of America Courtroom legal proceedings.
He graduated the Mediator formation courses organized by the Foundation of Democratic Changes.
He followed the International Arbitration English language Master program organized by the Faculty of Law from University of Bucharest. He became Master of Laws with the Thesis 'Extension of the Arbitration Agreement to Non-signatory Parties under the Romanian Law and Court of International Commercial Arbitration Rules'.
His thesis, a premier in the field, takes into consideration the extension possibilities of an arbitration agreement to non-signatory Parties from the standing point of the Romanian legislation corroborated with the Arbitration Rules of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
He speaks English, Italian, French and Romanian.
