Biography

Dawn is president and managing partner of Grant Bennett Associates, APC in Sacramento, California, a firm established in 1960. She has the primary responsibility for the firm's quality control system. Dawn graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelor in Business Administration in 1980. After a short stint at Suby Von-Haden and Associates in Madison, Wisconsin, Dawn joined Grant Bennett Associates in 1982 and became a partner in 1988 and has been managing partner since 1998. She has always been active in both the profession and the community throughout her career, serving on various boards of community based organizations. Dawn is the Past Board President of the Sacramento Children's Home. She also currently serves as a member of the California Peer Review Committee and on the Standards Task Force and the AICPA Peer Review Board. Prior to that she was a member of the former administrative committee for the California Board of Accountancy. In addition to performing traditional attest services, Dawn also heads the outsourced accounting department and the tax department of her firm. She performs peer reviews for a number of CPA firms primarily in California, Nevada and Hawaii. Dawn is licensed to practice in both California and Hawaii. In her free time, Dawn enjoys papercrafting, cooking, needlepoint and roses. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Allan and their toy poodle Rikki.
